About Lehigh Acres:
Lehigh Acres is located just east of Fort Myers. It is close to the water but also far enough so as to save a lot of money on cost of homes, insurance costs, taxes and other expenses that would be inherent to waterfront properties.
Lehigh Acres would be the third largest city in Florida if it was incorporated. Lehigh started with a focus on selling lots. No thought was put into the infrastructure. When, how or if, building would take place was not a concern to the owners of Lehigh Acres.
We as the current and future of Lehigh Acres are challenged with the task of fixing the damage that has been done prior. With the help of some civic leaders as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Lehigh Economic Development Board, we are collectively working with Lee County to bring change.
Change to some zoning so that businesses, parks and entertainment avenues can come and set up shop here. Change to the mis-informed perception is in full swing with the Chamber of Commerce leading the way. We are very civic minded and are involved in the community and marketing Lehigh as the place it really is.
